Driven by global ageing, the increase in chronic diseases and the integration of digital technologies, the medical technology industry is experiencing explosive growth. The University of Birmingham, as the world ’ s most powerful school, has been highly competitive in the job market with its top-level scientific and interdisciplinary background.

Graduates are generally better paid, and in the United Kingdom, senior experts or managers are paid more each year.80,000Pounds. In terms of career choices, doctoral graduates mainly go to the following areas:

  • Medical equipment R & D and innovation: Graduates can be research and development scientists, chief engineers, etc., in multinational enterprises such as Medunley, Siemens or innovative start-ups, leading the design and development of a new generation of diagnostic equipment, smart implants, surgical robots, etc., and are central drivers of technological innovation.

  • Digital health and artificial intelligence: demand in this area is high. Graduates are committed to the development of health-care AI algorithms, remote patient monitoring platforms and big data analysis tools, including AI scientists, bioinformaticians and others, to promote the development of individualized medical and precision care.

  • Pharmaceutical Technology and Conversion Medicine: In pharmaceutical giants such as Aslicon, GlaxoSchuck, doctoral graduates are engaged in the development of drug delivery systems, with diagnostic reagents, or are responsible for medical technical assessment in clinical trials of new drugs, which is a key bridge between basic research and clinical applications. - Clinical science and regulation: Many graduates choose to enter hospitals or the national health system (e.g. NHS) as clinical scientists responsible for the technical management and optimization of high-end medical equipment.
