The average monthly entry pay ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 Hong Kong dollars, in which the academic doctorate is about 30,000–40,000 and the industrial and government positions can reach 40,000–50,000, with a significant increase in space as experience increases.

With the promotion of Hong Kong’s “Five” sport policy and the launching of the Enlightenment Sports Park, there is a strong demand for sports science and a positive trend. In terms of career choices, doctoral graduates mainly go to the following areas:

  • Academia and the field of research: Physics, Biomechanicals and Health Promotion Research with a focus on physicals, biomechanicals and health, after having held a post or doctoral post at a university.

There has been an increase in scientific cooperation in the Bay of Hong Kong, which also provides opportunities for joint topics and teaching. - Administration of the sports industry: participation in professional clubs, sports science and technology companies or gymnasium chains, as sports performance consultants or industrial operators, and participation in sports science training and competition organizations.

  • Public Health and Policy: Serving in the Government ’ s health sector or non-governmental organizations, formulating health policies, promoting community sports interventions, addressing public health issues such as chronic disease prevention and control. - Sports science and technology and data analysis: through wearable equipment and AI technology, they are engaged in sports big data mining, development of smart training programmes for elite sports and public health management, which are emerging areas of high growth.
